Pontarddulais pilgrims return to St Teilo’s at St Fagans

The visit formed part of a growing tradition linking Pontarddulais with its relocated medieval church.

More than 30 people from Pontarddulais travelled to St Fagans National Museum of History to worship in St Teilo’s Church — the medieval building that once stood in the town before being relocated to the museum.

The service for St Teilo’s Day was led by Canon Huw Mosford and Rev'd Ian Davies, with the address by vicar of Pontarddulais Rev'd John Gillibrand, with members of Pontarddulais Town Council also present.

In his address, John reflected on St Teilo’s example and encouraged the congregation to live faithfully in the present while trusting in God’s grace for the future. He also spoke about the role of church buildings beyond Sunday worship, pointing to forthcoming community activities planned locally.

Organisers said the event had been warmly received and hope it will now become an annual pilgrimage.
