Church Growth Fund

Supporting growth across the diocese

The Church Growth Fund is a province-wide commitment to helping churches grow. It exists to support work that creates new opportunities for people to encounter faith, strengthens the life of local congregations and encourages confident, outward-looking ministry.

The fund backs projects that have the potential to make a real difference to church life — whether by renewing worshipping communities, drawing in people who are not currently connected to church, or developing fresh and creative approaches to sharing the good news of Jesus.

In Swansea and Brecon, the Church Growth Fund is supporting three focused projects. Each one reflects a different context and approach, but all share the same purpose: helping local churches grow in confidence, deepen their worshipping life and connect more openly with the communities they serve.

Swansea Minster

Swansea Minster is receiving Church Growth Fund support to help develop sustainable patterns of worship, extend weekday use of the building and strengthen its role as a city-centre church.

The project is focused on rebuilding core congregational life, opening the Minster to more visitors and community groups, and building partnerships with organisations across the city. Work also includes improving welcome, visibility and volunteer capacity as the Minster continues its renewal.

Wonder of Wellbeing, Gower

Wonder of Wellbeing is supported by the Church Growth Fund to create opportunities for reflection, connection and gentle exploration of Christian spirituality. Rooted in the landscape and communities of Gower, the project offers wellbeing-focused activities that draw people into new and existing church life.

The work includes reflective walks, creative sessions and quiet days, developed with local churches to help people encounter faith through stillness, hospitality and relationship rather than formal programmes.

St Catherine's, Gorseinon

Support from the Church Growth Fund is helping St Catherine's develop its worshipping life, grow new connections with the town and make fuller use of its buildings and outdoor spaces.

The project is enabling the church to build on existing relationships, offer new points of contact with families and local groups, and improve the flexibility of its facilities for both ministry and community use.
