New heritage grants available for repairs and local projects

Churches and community groups with historic buildings now have a new opportunity to tackle repairs and small heritage projects thanks to a new funding scheme.

The Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority has launched a Heritage Grant Programme aimed at conserving and celebrating the historic environment across towns and villages within the National Park.

Grants of up to £5,000 are available, covering as much as 50% of project costs, with a total fund of £30,000 available. Work supported by the programme normally needs to be completed within 12 months of the award.

Eligible projects include the repair and maintenance of historic buildings, conservation of archaeological and historic features, interpretation and recording work, and heritage events, training or educational initiatives.

For further information or to discuss a potential application, contact the National Park Authority at grants@beacons-npa.gov.uk or telephone 01874 624 437.
