Clergy well-being survey launches 16 February

During a debate at the Governing Body's meeting in April 2024, it was suggested that the province considered assessing clergy well-being in a structured way. Following discussion with the Standing Committee, Bench of Bishops, the Representative Body's Human Resources Committee and the archdeacons it was agreed that a detailed survey of clergy well-being be undertaken. The survey has been prepared and will soon be launched.

The survey is run by an external provider, Great Place to Work, a company that specialises in gathering and analysing workplace data. All data collected is done so anonymously and in line with GDPR best practice. The survey is bilingual so can be completed in Welsh and English.

The clergy well-being survey opens on 16 February 2026 and will be open for two weeks. It will be open to stipendiary clergy on this occasion.

A completion link will be sent to clergy via your Church in Wales email address, which allows you full access to the survey.

The email will contain a QR code which can also be used to access and complete the survey via a smartphone.

The survey is a mixture of tick boxes and open questions and will take around 15 minutes to complete.

If you require assistance, please contact your regional HR officer.

By participating in this survey, you will help provide knowledge and insight into what is going well and what areas require improvement. Please do participate.
